Hi! I’m Eashwar Nagaraj.

I’m a fifth-year PhD student and 2026-2027 job market candidate at the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting. I study information asymmetry between regulators, insiders, and market participants, with an emphasis on tax policymaking and enforcement. I also examine issues related to the future of professional human capital. My research has been featured in Boston Globe, Cato Institute, Marginal Revolution, and National Affairs. I was recently awarded the 2026 Deloitte Foundation Doctoral Fellowship.

Prior to joining the PhD program at Florida, I was a senior consultant within the transfer pricing practice at EY LLP from 2019-2021 working on international tax planning and compliance projects for clients in health care, manufacturing and information technology industries. I received a M.A. in Economics, a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics and a B.A. in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. My predoctoral research experience includes a stint at the Parliament of India on worldwide taxation regimes, and field research experience in development and health economics at J-PAL.

In my free time, I play cricket, participate in trivia, and spend time with my wife and our cat, Winona.
